Finally, it was near the end of the concert. The last programme was to sing the school song with the bands playing the music. Oh my goodness! The whole theatre of Marists sang with pride and gusto and I felt great to be part of it. After the song ended, we felt that is was not the end yet. Someone shouted "Encore, encore encore!" before the rest of us followed. The music conductor was not sure what to do. I guess he never expected us to do that. However, after a moment's hesistation, he went up the standto conduct the school band to play the school song again. The second time we sang it with equally pride as the first time. It was simply marvalous and this memory will stay with us forever and be part of our journey. So if we could go back in time, many of us would still choose to be a MARIST- a sportsman, gentleman and a scholar!
Yesterday, my school held the 50th Anniversary Concert at the Esplanade Theatre. The cost per ticket was either $15 or $ 20 depending on the seats. My school symphonic band, chinese orchestra and drama club were performing. When my friends and I met up and reached the theatre, it was very crowded and was packed with many Marist as well as their families and friends. Some even brought their girlfriends along. My friend,Moses,ws one of them and we could see that his girlfriend was not too bad looking. When we heard Mr Kwok's announcement to be seated in the theatre, we showed the ushers our tickets and found our seats. We were seated at one of the best seats as we had perfect view of the concert stage. Slightly before the concert started, Ms Dianna Sim with some of her female friends came and satin front of us. My friends almost had their eyes popped out and began gossiping about her. Ms Sim was considered relatively good-looking and hot, and to me she is one of the prettiest teacher in Maris Stella. Soon, the concert started and everyone applauded. Then, the drama club had a play about Marists, " Once a Marist, Always a Marist." and about the sale of concert tickets to a group of ex-Marists who became businessman, priest and soccer coach respectively. Then, the symphonic band play for about 1 hr before a 10 min interval and then the chinese orchestra went on to play for another 1 hr.
